Once news happens it's too late. Once it's actually IN the news, you are waaaaayy too late. If you can get into a trade based on a rumor, then you have a slight advantage on profit. Insiders in this game make the most. People in the media get the next shot. By the time you wake up, the share price is going crazy, and that's not a good place to buy. Everybody doesn't have access to the same information equally. That's part of the game. What you CAN do is analyze the situation. Was it industry affecting news, or just that company? Was it global? Based on supply? Will it likely fall if such an event happens again? You'll more than likely get a retracement on explosive moves, but stick to your trading plan. Is the retracement enough to justify trying another entry? Or do you have FOMO? Sometimes it's best to move on to the next trade that you may be ignoring for this one.
